If You Have Found ICAMA

...you have landed on a website rich with support and information on alternatives or
adjunctive treatments to the standard methods of treatment that exist today.

If you are looking for those kinds of options, this means
that you feel that those standard treatments have not worked for you or that you are
looking for something to work in place of or in conjunction with your present treatment
choice.

I think the most significant difference between this site and other sites is that we offer
a lot of hope-stories written by people who have made it through the darkest hours of
IC and now have their life back. And, our chat site offers a place to vent and share
and reach your hands out for someone else to hold.

It Local, Not Systemic...(?)

I can't tell you the number of times that I have heard that comment from the various types of MDs that my patients have gone to--dermatologists, opthamologists, even internists, insisting that things like eye drops, cortizone cremes, and the like will have no effect on the body as a whole because it will be limited to the location that it is being placed upon.

This is another example of the fragmented state of affairs conceptualizing the human body today as viewed by the Western paradigm. It is another implication that our body is not connected. It seems inconceivable to take this position, but, I do continue to be in awe at the differrences in the way our intellect perceives identical information.

Interesting Article on Sugar

The end is rather funny, but, there is a lot of meaty information in here. It is a very good read:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/dietandfitness/9160114/The-bitter-truth-about-sugar.html

The Interconnectedness of the Human Body

I could go on an on about this subject, citing many sources and so forth. But, this is too vast a subject for a small blog, and so, I wanted to communicate a big thought in a concise manner.

Thoughts.....

I read a sentimental note (non patient related) today. It contained the followed quote from Gandhi. It really it home for me, and I thought I would share it with all of you.

Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words.

Keep your words positive because your words become your behaviors.

Keep your behaviors positive because your behaviors become your habits.

Moved

Yesterday, I was moved by someone who came in to see me for an appointment in such a profound way. On days like those, there is a part of me inside that becomes so ignited that I can barely take the feeling--but, in a good way. I was touched so deeply.

Forum Topics

As most or all of you know, the forum is a free space for any of you to speak about anything. I don't go in there and see what it is you are speaking about.

I do see the topcis however. I am sorry, I did, for the first time ever, just delete a topic string due to its "inappropriate nature".

If anyone wants to know anything about me personally, please ask me, I will tell you one on one-almost anything you want to know. But, please, don't speak about my personal issues on line. I am very warm, very open, and very understanding. But, I am also very private, both in my professional life and especially in my personal life.

Thank you for your understanding.

Interesting Website on side effects of antibiotics

Surely antibiotics have saved countless lives. I am not suggesting that we should not be using them. I have tirelessly posted on this subject. However, I have also commented repeatedly on their toxicity when over used or inapporpriately used, which, is a very high percentage of the time. Too much of a good thing becomes it's opposite. And, in my opinion, that is what has happened with antibiotics. In so many cases, where one would take antibiotics, the better way to go is to use herbs that are antimicrobial which can serve the same pruprose whithout the harsh and sometimes "permanent?" side effects.
