It is more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has. -Hippocrates

If You Have Found ICAMA

...you have landed on a website rich with support and information on alternatives or
adjunctive treatments to the standard methods of treatment that exist today.

If you are looking for those kinds of options, this means
that you feel that those standard treatments have not worked for you or that you are
looking for something to work in place of or in conjunction with your present treatment
choice.

I think the most significant difference between this site and other sites is that we offer
a lot of hope-stories written by people who have made it through the darkest hours of
IC and now have their life back. And, our chat site offers a place to vent and share
and reach your hands out for someone else to hold.

Is More Better?

Oh, I just posted this huge post and hit save and it deleted it. I am going to try and recapture the essence of everything I said with the winds having been blown a little out of my sails:)

It is natural to think that if we do more and more and more it is better. People often ask me if they are not getting acupuncture or body work or some other kind of adjunctive treatment to mine, is it enough? Isn't more needed?

Is more better? Is it better to have two people cooking in the kitchen? Not really, you usually bump into one another and then in the end mess up the recipe. This is a simplified and perhaps exaggerated analogy, but, very true.

Warning

This website is such a source of information, hope, and education--I hope. I am very very happy that I had the opportinuty to create it years ago and that it has grown as a source for everyone. I hope that it will be even moreso with my newest upgrades to come which should be very exciting.

But with exposure and information sometimes can come confusion.

Batsaria-another good recipe-EDITED

Soon my site will be updated with a consolidation of all these recipes, but for now continuing to blog

This dish is a dish my mother used to make me growing up-I just "ICAMA'd" it :)

2 packets of organic feta cheese (after lis 3) (if list 2 try with mozzarella)

Braised Beef Recipe From a Fellow Patient

Braised beef - list 3

1 onion chopped

2 large shallots chopped

A Dinner Idea-Edited Version

I made a tastey dinner the other night I wanted to share:

I browned some grass fed organic ground beef in a pan briefly and then added some garlic powder and pink salt to taste
then I added some black bean and white beans-organic canned (rinsed them first)
I stirred until all of the beans were wartmed and mixed well with the beef then removed from the heat.

I then put this in the plate and on top of it put a handful of shredded (I shredded it in my food processor) organic red cabbage and chopped up tomatoes. On top of that i put a couple tablespoons of cultured creme, on top of that some shredded organic raw cheese. I did this with salsa, but you could do it with or without.

It was YUM YUM YUM!

Breakfast Pudding

Wow, I made an amazing breakfast "pudding" this morning I thought I would share. I also have some other food ideas that I have made lately and will post them later. I dont cook with measurements, so sorry for the imprecision:

Blend raw cashews and yoghurt about 1 to 1 ratio well until completely smooth
then add in a touch of maple syrup and blend more until completely blended

You can put berries on top of this or have this alone-SO TASTEY!!!

Pork

Most have you have noticed, I am sure that I took pork off my lists. I have been very perplexed by it and finally feeling very unsure to advocate it, so I took it off. I have noticed a couple of my bigger pork eater have not done so well and took them off of it. But, here is a great article about the subject: http://www.westonaprice.org/cardiovascular-disease/how-does-pork-prepared-in-various-ways-affect-the-blood

Antibiotics

It is no mystery even in the Western model of medicine that antibiotics are overly prescribed. This is substantiated by a growing number of drug resistant infections such as MRSA as one example. I am not saying there are not situations where one needs antibiotics, there are. But, antibiotics are tirelessly prescribed in situations where either the immune system could have taken over or a natural remedy could have been used in its place. This article is interesting in this sense, but, also note one side effect that happened to one persons bladder and kidney. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2097415/Taking-antibiotics-rup.... This is only one tiny example.

Hair Products

Just to let everyone know-the new shampoos and conditioners are available in unscented, lavender, and mango versions. I really love them personally. Hope whoever needs them does too. They are also certified organic.
